Lisa Rinna is one of the most recognizable celebrities thanks to her charismatic personality on social media and on the popular reality TV series “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” However, whenever she puts on a wig or does a massive transformation using the power of makeup, people can’t seem to recognize her.
Born Elizabeth Deanne Rinna on July 11, 1963, the reality TV star began her career as an actress and model. At the age of 21, Rinna wanted to pursue a career in acting, and she was cast in the music video for the song “Naughty Naughty” by John Parr.
Her career took off, and she appeared in several television programs, such as “The Hogan Family” in 1990. At the time, she starred as the love interest in Jason Bateman’s role.
Rinna’s massive fame didn’t come until she starred as Billie Reed in the NBC show “Days of Our Lives,” which fans really loved and adored. Although she left the show in 1995, she reprised the role in the 21st century.
Some of Rinna’s known acting credits include “Robot Wars,” “Melrose Place,” “Vanished,” “Movie Stars,” “Good Advice,” “My Adventures in Television,” “8 Simple Rules,” and many more.
After she spent more than a decade in the field of acting, Rinna went on to dominate the world of hosting and reality TV. Her first hosting gig was in 2002 when she became one of the presenters for the show “Soap Talk.”
But out of all of her appearances, the public had mixed reactions to her reality show, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” as she would often clash with other cast members.
In July 2023, Lisa Rinna took to her official Instagram account, where she shared a video of herself getting glammed up by her styling team.
The clip featured the reality star completely unrecognizable as she ditched her signature short hairstyle with a light brunette wig. For her look, Rinna went with the risqué route as she wore a seemingly sheer top with a black tube that appeared to be made with latex.
Rinna added the song “I’m Not Here To Make Friends” by Sam Smith, Calvin Harris, and Jessie Reyez in the background.
After she posted the video, fans, followers, and even haters bombarded the comment section with their different opinions about her look, and most of them were not happy with what she looked like at the time.
“Doesn’t even look like her. Sad,” one wrote.
One person even mistook her for being an impersonator as one commented, “What happened??? This is not Rinna? Male impersonator, maybe?”
“What did you do to yourself? It just keeps getting worse,” another one wrote.
Another one chimed in and seemed to be worried about what she looked like, as they commented, “OMG NOOOOO … Please tell me that’s a filter!! LISA you are one of the most gorgeous women in the world, what are you doing to yourself!”
Aside from the random comments she received, there were some who pointed out that she looked like another celebrity, “For a second there I thought you were (Brandi Glanville).”
“She looks like Jessica Rabbit on Roger Rabbit,” one wrote.
Since online users pointed out that Rinna might have gotten plastic surgery and fillers, she admitted to getting injections during the early days of her career.
In a 2010 interview with People Magazine, the reality star said she was inspired by Barbara Hershey’s lips in the movie “Beaches.”
At the time, Rinna was only 23 years old, and she decided to get a permanent silicone filler on the top part of her lips. At first, she was happy with the results, but after a decade, she regretted getting it in the first place.
It started having a “hard and bumpy” scar tissue. In an attempt to calm her lip down, she tried cortisone shots, but “it made them look worse.”
Finally, in August 2010, the actress decided to reduce the fillers and her doctor, Garth Fisher, downsized the lip by 30%.
Rinna was happy with the procedure as she told the outlet, “You can see my teeth when I smile now, which you couldn’t do for a while. I’ve been smiling these big smiles!”
In 2020, the reality star released her own beauty line called Rinna Beauty, which consisted of a variety of products like plumping gloss, plumping oils, mascara, and more.
In an interview with Daily Mail UK, Rinna said she always jokingly says that her lips “have a career of their own.”
She added, “The feedback on them was not always positive. There was a time when people were negative. But I think they became accepted when I said, ‘These are my lips! This is the way they are.'”
