Luanne Murta Jardim dos Santos Martins made a name for herself by creating fitness content for her many social media followers. The 30-year-old fitness guru, who lived in Brazil, was murdered in cold blood during an attempted robbery while she was with her husband and young son, Miguelzinho, who is two years old. According to reports on the fitness instructor’s murder, suspects approached the young family while they were in their car and opened fire on the 30-year-old.
On Instagram, Luanna had amassed a following of more than three hundred fifty thousand eager fans who wanted to watch her videos to learn about fitness and to live their best lives. During the firefight, Luanne was struck in the shoulder with a bullet, and the projectile passed through her body and into her heart, which killed her.
The 30-year-old fitness guru had previously documented her weight loss journey on social media for her thousands of followers. She was murdered in cold blood in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro on May 21, 2023, during the evening hours.
After she was shot in the shoulder, Luanne was rushed to the hospital in Meier called Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital. Although Luanne got great care at the hospital, she was not able to pull through and succumbed to her gunshot wound shortly after her arrival at the care center.
Now, Brazilian authorities are investigating the murder as an attempted robbery. However, the victim’s father, Daniel Jardim dos Santos, believes that his daughter was targeted by the robbers. He claimed that the robbers followed Luanne through the streets of Rio de Janeiro before they trapped her in her vehicle and opened fire upon her and her young family.
The victim’s father said, “This was not just a theft, a robbery. It was a homicide. No one shoots at another car with the windows closed.”
Reports indicate that the robbers first shot at the rear of Luanne’s family car before pulling up alongside it to shoot even more bullets at the unsuspecting family of young people. In addition, Luanne’s husband, husband João Pedro Farche, admitted that he and their toddler son were both in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but they were fortunately not harmed by any of the gun blasts.
In a message to Luanne’s followers on social media, her husband wrote: “I’m not very good with this. I want to thank everyone who is sending many, many messages. I’m fine; Miguelzinho (their son) is also fine. Miguelzinho hurt his face. Some pieces of shrapnel went in his face, but he’s okay. I was in the back seat. But that’s it. As soon as I have more information, I’ll write it here.”
Luanne became an influencer on social media after she went through a weight-loss journey that resulted in her losing more than ninety pounds or 42 kilograms.
In addition to being survived by her husband and two-year-old son, Luanne is also survived by a ten-year-old child. The investigation into her murder is currently being handled by Brazilian authorities and is ongoing.
