George Clooney’s Wife Amal Gushes About How Their Twins Adore Their Papa Who ‘Can Fix Everything’

George Clooney wears many hats as an actor, director, producer and screenwriter. He started his career in the ’70s but only got his big break in the ’90s. George became a notable actor after acting as Dr. Doug Ross in “ER” from 1994 to 1999. He won nominations for two Primetime Emmy and three Golden Globe Awards for this role.

George became established after snagging lead roles and appearing in “Three Kings” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” George’s leading role in “Ocean’s Eleven” further cemented his position as a talented celebrity. He directed his first movie, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” in 2002.

The media personality is not only talented but also handsome and is one of Hollywood’s heartthrobs. His many relationships also attest to the fact that many ladies have found him irresistible. The movie producer was notorious for his many romances with several actresses, including Kelly Preston, Ginger Lynn Allen, Cameron Diaz, Frances Fisher and Jennifer Siebel Newsom.

George also once dated retired WWE pro wrestler Stacy Keibler and French reality TV personality Céline Balitran. The showbiz mogul had a relationship with Krista Allen which lasted for two years, and he was even married once to actress Talia Balsam in 1989, but they split in 1993. He often joked that a Vietnamese pig he had for over 18 years was his longest relationship.

Despite his aversion to commitment, George is now married with two children. His wife, Amal Clooney, spoke in Washington during an award ceremony where George was recognized on Dec. 3, 2022, and revealed their kids think highly of their dad. They believe George is “the coolest dad on Earth.” Keep reading to find out more about what she said.

George Clooney never wanted to get married or even have children after his first marriage crashed. He dated several women, but the relationships always ended without leading him and any of the women to the altar. However, all that changed when he met his British-Lebanese wife, Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin), in July 2013.

The lawyer and human rights activist was on her way to Cannes when a mutual friend introduced her to George, who was immediately taken in by her beauty, intelligence and humor. The filmmaker was instantly attracted to her, but he wasn’t sure she liked him. Nevertheless, they became pen friends but soon realized they had grown feelings for each other.

George and Amal had their first date in October 2013, where she impressed him with how she handled the paps. They also went to Kenya to see some giraffes, Amal’s favorite animals. George looked at the pictures and knew he wanted to marry her. Six months after they started dating, he proposed to her.

The movie maker had no doubts that he and Amal were suitable for each other. His only doubt was whether she would think it was too early.

“There was no doubt that we were the right couple and that we were the right team,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017. “And we were a team from right off the bat. Immediately, we felt we were just happy, and we have been happy ever since.”

The couple had a low-key wedding in Venice, Italy, in 2014, with about 100 relatives and friends in attendance. Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome, officiated the wedding. However, the paparazzi caught wind of the ceremony and waylaid the couple on their way.

George and Amal welcomed their twins, Ella and Alexander Clooney, in 2017. George has shared that they never discussed having children until after getting married. He said:

“We never talked about it until after we were married, which is funny. There was an assumption that we didn’t want them. And then, after the wedding, Amal and I were talking and we just felt we’d gotten very lucky, both of us, and we should share whatever good luck we’ve got. It would seem self-centered to just have that belong to us.”

George also enjoys being a parent and told the outlet:
“I’m a very good diaper guy, which I didn’t expect.”

He spoke kindly about Amal’s mothering and said, “And I have such admiration for my wife because she’s breastfeeding them and getting about two hours of sleep per interval, and the love they have for her is a sight to see and it’s beautiful.”

On Dec. 3, 2022, Amal and George were in Washington to celebrate the actor getting an award at the Kennedy Center Honors. Even then, the couple couldn’t avoid being asked about their rarely-seen little twins. However, the pair were gracious enough to give an update on their tiny tots when questioned by a reporter about what the young ones think about their dad.

“Well, they’re 5 right now, so they think I’m golden,” George remarked with a satisfied smirk.

Amal jumped in to add that the twins thought George was the “coolest dad on Earth” and believed “Papa can fix everything except the weather.”

“And (he’s) the funniest person they have met,” she added.

Amal also made references to her twins while giving a speech in Madrid on June 22, 2023, for the We Choose Earth tour. The mom of two struck a figure of confidence and poise as she walked up the stage for her speech in a classy yellow jumpsuit with her long hair flowing down in big curls around her face.

On stage, Amal made a strong case for intervention to resolve climate change for the Earth’s future, touching on how she related to the issues personally.

“As a mother of 6-year-old twins, I am so grateful for the many people who have made it their mission to create a safer and healthier planet for future generations,” she said.

The accomplished arbitrator added the green cause also shared a similar mission with her work. “As a human rights lawyer, my mission focuses on a related issue: What kind of Earth do we want to live in, and how should we treat the people on our planet? But of course, these goals are intertwined,” she said.

Both George and Amal share a deep passion for humanitarian causes, philanthropy and activism, which has only served to strengthen their bond. For Time’s 2022 Women of the Year profile, Amal gushed about her husband and said:

“Marriage has been wonderful. I have in my husband a partner who is incredibly inspirational and supportive, and we have a home filled with love and laughter. It is a joy beyond anything I could ever have imagined. I feel so lucky to have found a great love in my life, and to be a mother — this is how I get my balance.”
