Tom Brady’s former mother-in-law lost her life to an illness that was similar to one his mother survived. The public has sent their condolences to Gisele Bünchen, and her bereaved family as they mourn such a significant loss.
The mother of iconic supermodel Gisele Bündchen, Vânia Nonnenmacher, has sadly passed away after a battle with cancer. She died on Sunday morning at the age of 75, and a wake and farewell ceremony was scheduled to take place today.
Nonnenmacher was hospitalized to undergo treatment for her cancer in Porte Alegre, although the type of cancer has not been specified. According to a news outlet that reported on her death, Gisele, who was extremely close with her mom, has not yet commented about the tragic ordeal.
Although she ended up not sharing the same fate as Vânia, NFL legend Tom Brady’s mom, Galynn Patricia Brady, also battled cancer. Years ago, Tom spoke about his mom’s illness and her managing to support him in person at his historic SuperBowl winning game in the 2016 season.
On this, he divulged, “Her treatments were ending at that point, so it kind of signified the end of not only the season but what she was going through, what our family was going through.” According to the news channel that reported on the story, Tom also credited his victory to Galynn being there. She was also joined by Gisele and other loved ones.
In the wake of her death, Vânia leaves behind her six daughters—in addition to Gisele, Patricia, Gabriela, Graziela, Rafaela, and Raquel Nonnenmacher Bündchen—whom she shared with Valdir Bündchen. The sad news comes after Gisele shared a rare family post on her social media with a carousel of images showing her whole family.
Many who have heard of Vânia’s passing have expressed their sorrow and condolences. Of her death, one person simply stated, “Heartbreaking 💔.” Another said, “Condolences to Gisele’s father, Gisele and her family, and her mother’s family and friends on her passing. Praying 🙏 for all of them.” Someone else who was also heartbroken by what happened commented, “😢RIP🙏🖤.”
Several days before Vânia’s demise, an article profiling her loving daughter, Gisele, was published in which the writer, Alicia Kennedy, briefly mentioned her parents. Alicia mentioned how Gisele having watched her parents deal with their health issues had been a motivating factor for the doting mom to take her health seriously.
Of the importance of health as a whole, Gisele disclosed, “I want to live the longest feeling the best I can, but for me to achieve this, I have to make decisions today.”
Being healthy is something that is incomparable to material entities like money for Gisele Bündchen. She said that while one can possess all the money in the world to purchase whatever may be their heart’s desire, buying one’s health back is not an option.
