In a distressing turn of events, 16-year-old Hydi Cain from Georgia has gone missing, raising concerns about her safety following an alleged mental health episode.
The Fayetteville Police, near Atlanta, have issued an Amber Alert, saying that the situation is grave. Her distressed mother, Sidney Fyffe, has taken to social media to seek assistance, expressing the emotional turmoil she and Hydi’s little sister are undergoing.

Missing person details
Hydi Cain, described as a 16-year-old white female with blonde hair and hazel eyes, weighing 130 pounds and standing at 5-foot-1, went missing on the morning of January 7, 2024.
Authorities have labeled her disappearance as linked to a “psychotic episode,” according to a missing person flyer posted to Facebook by Hydi’s mother. The missing poster also states that the teenager is in “grave danger,” which has prompted a collaborative effort to locate her.
On January13, law enforcement officials used social media platforms to share information about Hydi’s disappearance. They said it could be possible that the troubled teen could have altered her appearance, and latest information suggests her hair could now have been dyed black, per the New York Post.
The Fayetteville Police Department detailed on a social media post that Hydi was last seen wearing pajama pants, a sweatshirt, and no shoes. Authorities have been urging citizens with any relevant information to contact Detective Lindsey Fogler or Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta.

Online fundraiser
Hydi’s mother, Sidney Fyffe, has taken to Facebook to share her concerns, asking the online community to contact the authorities if they find out anything about her daughter. “Police are involved, but there is still no word on [Hydi’s] whereabouts, and her mom and little sister are worried sick. If you see Hydi or know of where she is, please contact the Fayetteville Police Department,” she stated, sharing a close-up photo of Hydi, addressing inquiries about freckles or beauty marks.

She also added: “Being a parent of an almost adult is the hardest thing I have ever done. They think they know what is out there. But they don’t. Y’all please help me bring my daughter home safe.”
Expressing the financial strain associated with the search, Fyffe has started a GoFundMe campaign. The family hopes that the campaign will alleviate ongoing costs related to locating Hydi, especially as the family resorted to hiring a Private Investigator to aid in the search, with the initial retainer covered by friends.
