Living in a society where there are strict standards for beauty and negative comments on social media is hard for people to express themselves fully, especially when a person is of a certain age.
However, one fearless woman named Candace Leslie Cima didn’t mind the haters and continued presenting the best version of herself and always dressed to the nines online despite the negativity being spread by trolls.
Cima is the person behind the TikTok account with the username lifeinmy70s. It appears that there are a lot of people being entertained by her content because, as of June 2023, she had nearly 100,000 followers and millions of likes from online users.
Although she has a massive following, and most of them send her love and support, there were also some who shared negative comments and even questioned her why she would wear those types of clothes as they believed she should dress her age.
In one video posted by Cima in 2022, the online content creator wore a fabulous minimalist ensemble that featured a white tank top and a pair of jeans. She completed the look with a pair of white strappy heels, a pair of sunglasses, and pearl accessories.
The clip appeared to address the haters who told her not to wear the clothes she had been posting because she’s “60.”
However, she didn’t mind the negativity as she responded with, “I’m actually 75.”
In the caption, Cima told her followers that fashion is for everyone and that people reinventing themselves as they age isn’t changing who they are on the inside.
In a mini vlog shared in March 2023, Cima could be seen living her best life while proving to haters that being in style doesn’t have to come with age as she had a vacation in Key Largo, Florida, as she flaunted a beautiful one-piece black swimsuit perfect for the sunny getaway.
Throughout the clip, the online sensation shared glimpses of the beach, the restaurant, and the place they ate at, along with a man who appeared to be her husband.
For the last part, the woman shared a different elegant beach-ready look as she wore a low-cut dress with a printed skirt and a bag.
The comment section was filled with positive comments from fans who commended her for her fashion sense.
“You look absolutely fabulous! Never mind the haters,” one wrote.
“If you still look that good And FEEL THAT wear what you want. They are just jealous,” another one wrote.
On her official website, Cima noted that she’s fortunate to be 76 years old at the time and has had many good experiences throughout her life.
“Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Business Woman, Model and Artist. I have always had a fascination with aging even when I was in my 20s and 30s never understanding how something so natural could have a negative connotation,” she wrote in the “about” column of her page.
One of the main reasons why she was fascinated by aging was because she owned a Senior Housing Community for over three decades, and seeing the people who lived there gave her a “very wide perspective on how different people age.”
The content creator further shared her thoughts on aging as she told fans that women like her have the chance to be “productive, intelligent, compassionate, and stylish” throughout their later years.
