‘Euphoria’ Star Angus Cloud’s Mom Found Him at Home, but It Was Too Late — Details of Her 911 Call Revealed

Angus Cloud is an actor famous for his role in “Euphoria.”
He died a few weeks after his 25th birthday, and one of the major themes addressed on his fan-favorite show might’ve been the cause.
On July 10, 1998, Angus Cloud was born in Oakland, California. He had no desire to become a celebrity until a casting scout discovered him on the street while living in Brooklyn for a short period.

In the spring of 2023, he spoke about his discovery confessing how he’d thought it was a scam. However, he took the agent’s number when he saw that she seemed genuine, and his friend was also asked to go along, but the pal declined.

Cloud later became an actor whose well-known roles included 2019’s “Euphoria,” “Your Lucky Day,” “The Line,” “North Hollywood,” and 2024’s “Untitled Monster Thriller for Universal Pictures Project.” In “Euphoria,” he played the role of Fezco, an illegal substance dealer from Oakland.

Sadly, weeks after he celebrated his most recent birthday, it was revealed that Cloud is gone.

Angus’s Sudden Death at Age 25
On July 31, 2023, Cloud’s family revealed his sudden death at age 25 at his Oakland family home. His family mourned him, saying he was “an incredible human,” a friend, an artist, a brother, and a son who was unique to them in different ways.

The week before his death, Cloud laid his father to rest and “intensely struggled” with losing his best friend, Conor Hickey. The actor had battled mental health issues, and his family hoped his death reminded other people that they aren’t alone and shouldn’t fight diseases silently.

His family found comfort in him being reunited with his late father, who appeared on his son’s Instagram account wearing a red coat and matching pants on July 14, 2023. TMZ’s last conversation with the star was in March 2022, when Cloud defended “Euphoria” from accusations that it glorified the use of illegal substances.

Surprisingly, the actor – who had cameos in music videos for prominent artists – seemed to have lost his life due to those same illegal substances. Reports revealed that Hickney’s death pushed him to turn to the wrong things due to his incapability to cope with the loss.

His family wishes Cloud to be remembered fondly for his laughter, humor, and love for all people.

A source said the actor struggled with severe suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland – his mother’s home country – where he buried his father. He was in an Oakland family home at the time of his death because he chose to stay with them while working to overcome his grief.

TMZ’s 3:30 p.m. update on the case revealed that at around 11:30 a.m. on the day of Cloud’s death, the Oakland Police Department and Fire Department responded to a 911 call by Cloud’s mother, Lisa Cloud McLaughlin. She called in a “possible overdose,” noting how her son had no pulse.

The actor was pronounced dead on the scene. In a February 2022 interview, the star showed how much he wasn’t into fame when confessing to preferring that people didn’t recognize him because he didn’t want to be treated differently.

His family wishes Cloud to be remembered fondly for his laughter, humor, and love for all people. The family in mourning, including the actor’s younger twin sisters, Molly and Fiona, also ask for privacy as they continue to process the “devastating loss.”

HBO, the network where “Euphoria” aired, said it is “incredibly saddened” to hear about Cloud’s death. It noted how Zendaya’s co-star was a talented and beloved part of their family and passed their deepest condolences to his family and friends.
