Serena Williams Is Fuming After Being Denied Access To Paris Restaurant

When you are a mega-celebrity, you grow accustomed to being treated to everything you want. It seems as if Serena Williams may have felt that way.

Recently, she was in Paris to attend the Olympic Games and participated in the opening ceremony as a torchbearer. She was with her family so they decided to go out to a fancy restaurant for a nice meal.

Things didn’t go well when they went out for a meal so she went on Twitter to tell the story. It seems as if the Peninsula Hotel in Paris was not very accommodating.

“Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places…but never with my kids,” she said. “Always a first.”

Fans started to talk about how she should have a preference for anything. They were wondering how somebody with this big of a celebrity status could possibly get denied.

Since she posted, the restaurant has replied on the Twitter thread. They said: “Dear Mrs. Williams, Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight.

“Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.

“We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again.”

A representative has since spoken about how they have the utmost admiration and respect for Williams and they are deeply apologetic for how she perceived the event.

That comment read: “The booked, and the only unoccupied tables at that time belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was also fully reserved tonight.

“She has always been, and will always be, more than welcome with her family at The Peninsula.”
