Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe responds to body shamers on the internet with mom’s support – ‘bullshit’

Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe is all grown up and carving out her own identity into the world. She is active on social media, posting on Instagram and TikTok.

Now, she is replying to those who engage in body shaming comments towards her with a powerful message.

Ava Phillippe is using her social media platforms to spread body positivity. Ava, who is the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe has amassed a big following on social media in the last few years.

Now the 24-year-old wants to use her following to send a message about body positivity. In a video she posted to TikTok, she wore an oversized Blondie t-shirt. The video is shot in a POV (point-of-view) style shows her in a bathroom, infront of a mirror as she reaches for a red lipstick. As she reaches for the tube, text appears on the screen which reads, “NBD but I just achieved a major milestone as a woman online.” The song ‘Just a Girl’ by No Doubt plays in the background.

The text further reads, “I saw 2 different strangers commenting on my body. The first said I should get on Oz*mpic because I’m too fat… The second accused me of starving myself because I’m too thin… My weight did not change in the time period between their comments. (& it wouldn’t be any of their business if it did!)”

As this happens, Ava smears the lipstick on her face on purpose and the text reads, “It’s such bulls**t.”

She then walks out of frame as text keeps running on the video.

“No one deserves to be picked apart for what they look like,” it says. “You don’t always know what someone’s gone through or what they struggle with. But no matter who you are … Your beauty exceeds superficial measures.”

In the caption for her video, she simply writes, “Pretty is as pretty does, babes … & bodyshaming is simply toxic behavior. 💋.”

She also wants to make it clear that she knows body shaming is not exclusive to women. “P.S. I put ‘woman’ because I see this type of thing happening disproportionately to young girls & women, but let me be clear; body shaming is toxic no matter who the subject is,” she clarifies. “We all deserve to feel safe & at peace in the vessel we live in.”

Ava’s famous mother, Witherspoon also commented on her daughter’s video with, “Yes to all of this 💋,” showing her support to her eldest child.

It is so nice to see Ava Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon make it clear that any type of body shaming will not be tolerated! Such comments on people’s weights is not by any means neccessary.
